Brigus South is a cozy community located in a small cove between Cape Broyle and Tors Cove on The Irish Loop. For centuries its sheltered habour has provided safe refuge from stormy weather, making it a prized fishing port for generations of seafarers.

Today the fishery still plays an important role in the local economy, but there are other opportunities as well, with some townfolk opting to commute to St. John's or other nearby communities for employment.

In recent years Brigus South has also proven to be a magnet for the artistic community, attracting television and film crews, as well as painters and photographers from all corners of the world. The breathtaking scenery and peaceful environment make the area a natural choice for artistic inspiration, and to this end several people have established homes or cottages here.

If you're looking for a quieter pace of life in the great outdoors, Brigus South is a peaceful place to get away from it all.
