Steeped in history and rich in natural beauty, Ferryland is a wonderfully charismatic town located in the heart of The Irish Loop. It is here that some of the earliest attempts to colonize Newfoundland took place, and in 1621 Ferryland was officially founded by Sir George Calvert, the first Lord Baltimore.

Today Ferryland has become an important hub for tourism activity in the area, largely building off its vibrant history which is on full display at the Colony of Avalon Archaeology Dig Site and Interpretation Centre. Ferryland is also considered the center for government services in the area, delivering valuable support in fields ranging from health care to business development to law enforcement. Home to many small businesses in a variety of industries, residents are optimistic about further growth in the area.

Located approximately 80 kilometers south of St. John's along Route 10 on the Irish Loop, Ferryland has something to offer everyone. Its unbeatable ocean views are only outdone by the warmth of the people who live here. Whether you are looking for a place to raise a family, launch a business or enjoy retirement, Ferryland may just be the place you've been looking for.
